Paddle Board Race- July 24th!

Paddle Battle of Gull Lake- July 24th, 2016

Welcome to the 2016 MN Surf Co Paddle Battle. This year’s event promises to have you laughing and crying at the same time. There will be challenges for all who come to take on what Gull Lake dishes out. New for this year’s event will be the circuit race and elimination sprint races as well as the new short and long course race. Compete in one race or throw on your Rocky Balboa Face and do em all. One Price for all events. You can sign up for the Sprint and Circuit Race day of event. We guarantee a good time. There's great music, food, drink, and celebration!

Long Course: 6 miles of blood, sweat, and tears. Starting at Zorbaz you will head through the channel into Lake Margaret, paddle hard and fast through the channel as there’s always a slight current, don’t stop until you see the turn around buoys and marshal towards the end of the lake, make a turn and head back to the start finish area, you should be able to almost taste the beers waiting for you, but not quite yet. Make it through the start finish area, smile like you are having fun and head out for one more grueling lap. This distance is not for the weak but just think about how many calories you get to replace with tasty beverages and plenty of pizza.

Short Course: 3 Miles of painful bliss! Same as the long course but just one lap but just as grueling.

Sprint Races: Elimination sprint races, winners move on to compete in the 1 on 1 finals. 100 yrd Sprints.

Circuit Race: A 1 mile mass start circuit race takes you around a 3 buoy course for 5 laps. Be prepared for some bumping, cussing, and laughing. Rubbing is racing as they say.
