Paddlepalooza Gull Lake 2017

BIGGER AND BETTER FOR 2017. In 2016 we witnessed a record turn out  with over 100 paddlers enjoying an amazing event. We love to hear your feedback as it helps us make this event better for everyone. This year we are working to raise awareness and money for a worthy cause. That being HART ANIMAL RESCUE in Brainerd.  Hart builds compassionate relationships between people and animals through quality education, sheltering and adoptions.  We encourage you to paddle with your pet!

Paddlepalooza is an end of the season Paddle Party to celebrate being active, our area, waterways, music, food, and community. Join us on Sept 3th 2017 for a 5 mile supported paddle from Nisswa Lake to Zorbaz on Gull Lake. Our goal is to bring together the largest group of active water sport enthusiasts for a group paddle with end of season party at Zorbaz. Open to paddle boarders, kayakers, and canoes.

New for 2017:

Paddlepalooza T-Shirt included with registration!!

Lead paddlers: Providing pace and guidance for various abilities. We encourage all paddling abilities and want to make sure you feel comfortable on the water. This year we will have lead paddlers in three different groups to ensure everyone knows where they are going and also to help with any assistance needed.

Paddling for a good cause.  This year we will give 10% of your registration fee to Hart Animal Rescue. The rest of the money goes to all the overhead involved such as food, beverages, paid help, insurance, marketing, licenses, entertainment and so on.

Added Aid Stations along route including BBQ/Beverage Docks.

We will be providing support via Jet Ski along with 1 rest stop providing beverages, food, and music. The party really gets going on the patio at the Famous Zorbaz on Gull. There will be drink specials, live music, and prizes!!!

Details:

Please meet at Midsota Metal works on the corner of 371 and Nisswa Lake at 9:30 am Sept 3rd for pre-paddle meeting. Click here for their address. We are hoping to be on the water and paddling by 10am. There will be parking here. We will transition to the private/public landing on Nisswa Lake for launching.  The group will begin the 5 mile paddle together. There is a rest stop with on the water BBQ and music and the Twisting Vixens hula hoopers.  Pull up and have some lunch courtesy of Grand Champion Meats. Shawn and Terry from the Nisswa Chamber will be serving up the goods.  Upon departing Point Narrows Resort, the group will follow the lead paddlers and head up through Spider LK and then into upper Gull Lake.  You are on the home stretch and headed to Zorbaz. Make your way to the outside patio for some music, raffles, and more food/drink.  Bent Paddle will be providing a tasty beer for all participants  and Zorbaz will be providing pizza. Stick around for some giveaways and our live auction. Some very generous sponsors have donated gift certificates to be auctioned off. The money raised will go directly to our chosen organizations.

We will be providing shuttle service runs back to Nisswa and Nisswa Lake for participants to retrieve their vehicles and then you can pick up your equipment back at Zorbaz.   Feel free to hang out at Zorbaz and enjoy the amazing paddle you just accomplished.

Please make sure you have a PFD and a dry storage for your car keys.  We are all looking forward to a great day on the water!!

In the event of bad weather, we will cancel and refund everyone.
